The Story, Clune Brothers Music and Coffee to a Tea:

In July of 2005 I happened to be in West Seattle enjoying the charm, friendliness of the local merchants. As I was walking down California Ave I noticed a welcoming, almost European looking café. It was “Coffee to a Tea.” The comfortable outside seating aroused my curiosity and I ventured in. Greeted by the friendly staff I quickly learned that besides being a very hip place to enjoy a great cup of java and tea, the café/restaurant was a world-class bakery creating their own special hobbit goodies as well as being a popular caterer. The menu didn’t stop there. Great tasting quiche, sandwiches, soups and a nice list of import beers and wine. By the way there’s free wi-fi Internet service for all the surfers, nerds and nerd wannabees!

My thoughts focused on the comfortable rectangular maze-y shape of the café and as I walked through the establishment I noticed the friendly cushioned chairs and a couch along with a lot of children’s books and toys. The back area looked like a haven for any toddler, pre-schooler or big kid.

The idea for developing and establishing a professional music venue that would be part of this unique almost European café/restaurant was an easy conclusion to come to. In July of 2005, with the support of some of the coolest, most insightful, good hearted, and hard working owners, Jodi and Shanon, we got started.

The energy is ongoing and it’s the only place in West Seattle with a professional live music venue. So Clune Brothers Music began the goal of establishing a first class live music environment for showcasing the Northwest’s best singer/songwriters in an intimate, comfortable listening environment.

The stage was built, the house PA came along, and we’re still working on the lighting. Over the last 9 months we have booked some of the best single, duo, and trio acts in town that perform every Friday evening 8-10 PM. Our audiences are growing and people in West Seattle are appreciative of the “good music.” Whether it’s folk, jazz, Latin, rock, blues, classical or a combination it’s good! We wouldn’t want it any other way for you or us.
